Are You Sure About This ven? Writing stuffs?

Since I was in school, well at least High School, I never get really interested in writing. Because I found myself bored every time I tried to bought a diary to wrote for since kindergarten but always ends up with a lot of browned blank pages. I forgot how many times I bought books to wrote and finally threw it all away. I used to express my feelings with making lyrics and music, not this boring typing work. Mostly sad songs but sometimes happy songs, each of it represents how I felt, loss, or falling in love.

However this writing thing I recently getting serious more than ever, even surprising for myself. I never get to be this consistent for my whole life. I owned a blog previously but abandoned it bcs I forgot the password which i also forgot when was the last time i used it. Beside of this media I use is more efficient and user-friendly for me (this is not an ad lol), I found out I am capable to do this and to improve it along the journey.

One thing that really awakened me is the IELTS preparation class I took last february. It really taught me how to write, well in that case for essay, from 150 to 250 words. I always thought those are a lot of words but now, even for answering cheesy question for a test, those are not enough to release the unspoken words. They taught me a way of thinking which is very different from the way most Indonesian Schools taught.

In schools, every time we get the material in “Bahasa Indonesia” about writing, letters, poems, proposals, stories or essays, all we get to faced in the first time is always about the rules. How many words, paragraph, the indentation, and structure. Meanwhile, the first thing we should able to do before writing in IELTS test is to make a “idea framework” or “kerangka ide” for each order of structure in writing. Such as introduction, main paragraph, and closing statements.

This is why every time i got writing assignment at school i still lacked count of words for focusing more on executing rather than planning and brainstorming.

This reminds me of how the whole school system works in Indonesia, and I wondered if this is the reason why our country really gets so left behind. Is that people are too get caught up in rules, system, line or pattern of life.

Yes, pattern of life.

Example,

For most women are to get school, get higher education, find work until get enough money to have a family, get a family, and die. They never talked about dream much. Well at least our parents. Mine never really hears about what I really wants to be in the future, but they do know what best for me. As a girl that now about to become a woman.* Although i secretly on the way to achieve my dream behind them.*

I use this media for a lot of things. For company portfolio of course, because this is much more accessible than pictures on a paper, to keep up with my last progress and documentation it, also to help me not to forget what I really should achieve in life and what can I do. Because I found this so motivating, that every time we failed, remember again what you already achieved something in the past to prove that you are really capable of something and overcome any boundaries. I planned that this should be really represents my whole life, from ideas, romance, to belief.

But as what people say, we don’t have to try so hard to be liked by other people, and so is my writing.

This will be useful for the right people, at the right time, and for the right purpose. Hopefuly will change the world someday
